How to recycle a sweater
Hello! If you're new to the blog, please take some time to sign up for my monthly newsletter, The Monthly Bling! Get tips on jewelry care, jewelry trends, and get a chance to win a free piece of bling in my monthly jewelry giveaway!

Okay, file this under too cute. Artist and queen of felted wool Betz White recycles discarded wool sweaters by felting and “artfully” stitching them to make these cute enough to eat cupcake pincushions. In addition to these pincushions, she also makes felted journals, blankets, pillows, wall hangings and she just made these new felted bowls that are very cool…all out of old sweaters! I just want to get a bunch of these pincushions, stack them on a plate and display them on my kitchen table. With Betz’s clever designs, it’s no surprise that she recently landed a deal to write a craft book on felting. Check out her web site to look at more of her felted designs…she also has a great little blog too.
Thanks to the Make It blog for the 411 on Betz.

Your stuff is great! I, too, make bags & mittens from sweaters I buy at the Goodwill Store. It’s a great way to recycle, and it’s so much fun to put different colors & patterns together. Right now my sweater pile is waaay ahead of me! I keep buying them - that’s the part I enjoy the most - the hunt! And on Sundays, I get them 1/2 price cause I’m over 50. I guess there are perks to gettin “old”! lol Thanks for sharing your pics. I really enjoyed looking at them.
